About The Play:
In "The Memory of Water" three Yorkshire siblings -- the jet-setter, the vegetarian and the doctor -- reunite to prepare for a funeral and comically resurrect old rivalries over vocations, relationships and their dead mother, whose bizarre presence interrupts their boozy tirades leading to resolution through hilarity and healing.
Winner of the 2000 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, “The Memory of Water” first opened and enjoyed an extended run at London's Hampstead Theatre in 1997 and went on to successful regional premieres at Steppenwolf and the Manhattan Theatre Club. |
